Fortunately the next day it was a dull headache and by day three disappeared. Tried to follow TWT as best I could but found out the last two days I added parsnips and shouldn’t have. I didn’t notice any benefits overall except I lost 5 lbs the first week. More the result of eating cleaner than anything else I would assume. There was no change in my energy level at the gym. During week one I started running again after a three month break. My pace was 9:50km at 140 bpm. For those who are discouraged by having to run so slow, I can walk faster than that and keep my heart rate 10 bpm lower. At the end of the TWT I was at a 10:00km. Small dogs trotted past and laughed at me.

Left on an empty stomach at 6am and didn’t eat till 9am after I got to work , showered and got settled at my desk (standing desk). I only drank water the whole ride and I just could feel my legs were completely drained of energy and my HR was going much higher on flat segments than it usually would.

    Now when you go above 154 to say 169 I am now using both my aerobic and anaerobic systems. I cannot use fat for anaerobic right as it is not fast enough to convert to energy? But I can continue using fats for my aerobic? Or does my body just switch to glycogen stores as soon as I go over 154? Is it possible for both systems to be in play at the same time or are you either aerobic or anaerobic?

    Thanks for the great article. I would love to hear your thought on Lyle’s Rapid Fat Loss Diet. I know after all it is just a huge deficit but is the best way to create a large deficit while preserving muscle mass is to consume mostly protein like his approach? If we create the same deficit e.g. Eating 800 kcal/day but having carbs and fat will we lose more muscle mass than just getting those calories from protein only?
