You want to stay away from high-intensity exercise sessions during the TWT. They can only be fueled with glycogen, but ingesting starches and other dense carbohydrate sources during the TWT would ruin its effect.

    Exercise is an excellent way to lose weight, however it is one part of a two part process. Exercise combined with a healthy nutrition program is the best way to be successful in your weight loss. Most of us have had no nutritional guidance since the food pyramid in a health class from our school days. Honestly, we do not understand the difference between good and bad nutrition. We know we get hungry so we eat, and usually eat too much. When you start your exercise program, start keeping a food journal. Be accountable for everything you eat, write it down. Your exercise program will help you burn calories, so burn more than you consume and you will lose weight.
    This is why it’s recommended for endurance athletes to train in a low-glycogen state but race in a high-glycogen state—because even though they’re training slower, when that same machinery that produces relatively slower runs during trainer is given a full glycogen load, it seems to sprout afterburners overnight. But those afterburners never went away: it’s just that instead of training them training in a low-glycogen state builds the mechanisms that feed them.

  6. Plain and simple: We just don’t feel full by liquid calories in quite the same way as we do real food. Drinking a juice or caramel coffee drink, for instance, won’t make you feel full the way eating a bowl of veggie- and protein-packed stir-fry will. So monitor your intake of juice, soda, sweetened coffee and tea, and alcoholic beverages. If you consume each of those beverages during the day, you’ll have taken in at least 800 extra calories by nighttime — and you’ll still be hungry.     First let me say that I am in need to lose about 100 lbs. and I have been taking some supplements and moderate exercising but I am having only the minimum of success. I know the reason why is I still have bad eating habits. I prepare my own meals and I know I should do better. With that said, I received my new cook book, “Lose Weight By Eating” and I am already making plans, not only for my meals, but to entertain and cook for friends. So as a guy, I gotta love Chapter 9, “For the love of BBQ.” The first thing I am going make to from this book is the ‘Blue Cheese Buffalo Burger’ with real buffalo!!
    What about raw honey during the 2 weeks? I may have missed something about it, but didn’t see anything.
    The downside to Saxenda is the very high price – insurance may only cover part of it – and the nausea that people often experience on it.

    The anxiety plus the difficulty sleeping tells me there may be some hormonal issues at play (which can influence fat-burning). It’s very hard to say what the problem can be, beyond stress. One thing you could do is to take it easy and ease into the Two-Week Test. Instead of going “cold turkey” on sugars, try eliminating all added sugar, and then fruits, and then grains, and then legumes, so that it takes you a full week or more to arrive at “Two-Week Test” eating.
