    As far as your diet goes, you’ll want to reduce it drastically so that you can reach your goal to lose 20 pounds in 30 days, 2 weeks or 2 months. In the extreme case that you want to lose 20 pounds in a week or 2 weeks, you’re looking at a diet reduced to about 500-1000 calories per day. If you’ll be taking a month or two to lose 20 pounds, then you can allow yourself 1500 calories per day. Counting calories may seem a bit old-school, but it’s one of the best ways to keep track of how much to eat when you’re trying to achieve a concrete goal.

  9. As for your question, are you asking if a combination of strength work and metabolic work (as mentioned in that other article) is the best way to burn fat and maintain muscle? If so, there’s no real answer to that. You could just as easily skip the metabolic work and achieve the same results if your diet is adjusted correctly. Basically, it depends on the needs and preferences of the person.

    I started the 2-week test last week but by 2 or 3 days into the test I was so weak I could hardly walk up and down the stairs in my house. I felt terrible and was unable to do my daily runs because of feeling so weak. I thought it would pass but after another day of feeling so awful I had to stop the test because I needed energy for my work (I’m a massage therapist). Can you tell me what is going on with my body? Do I just need to take a few days off work and try to push through until it passes? Will it pass? There is no way I could endure 2 weeks of that. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    This is were I take advantage of your knowledge though. I am new to weight training and for the last 3 month’s I’ve been cutting. This has been tough mainly because I was only 145 lbs when I started but had some belly fat and thought I should work on the theory to get lean first. I guess the cut has been going okay as I’ve dropped 11 lbs. My problem is in my damn head I keep telling myself I’m too small (because I am) and constantly feel the urge to bulk. I can’t see my abs yet and still have some belly fat…I hear it’s the last to go. If you were in my shoes would you continue the cut until the abs show or would you switch it up and start a bulk? The other thing is I don’t know how long it’s gonna take to see my abs.
    Give these rituals a-go to feel more energized, relaxed and balanced!

    Adopting a new eating style that promotes weight loss must include lowering your total calorie intake. But decreasing calories need not mean giving up taste, satisfaction or even ease of meal preparation.
    Hello, can you please tell me if on the TWT I can have lentils and peas? I know it says no beans but what about lentils and peas like chickpeas? If you could also let me know why, then I will be able to apply the principles to other foods.
    Keep fluids and sodium high leading up to the last day. This shouldn’t be hard to do as you’ll probably be doing it already. When dieting, we tend to drink more fluids and salt heavily anyway. By keeping them high until the final days, you “teach” your body to flush them more efficiently, so when you do pull them out, your body continues to expel them at a fast rate.
