The reason I’m not too worried is because it’s a lot easier for your body to convert dietary sugars to body fat than dietary fats to body fat. Basically, dietary fats have to be broken down into something a lot like sugar, and built back up into body fat. So, when you eat something with very little sugar, even though your body may use that sugar immediately, the fats are going to be available for longer. Although theoretically your body would eventually turn them into body fat, the amount of sugar is so small that the fats will almost certainly be utilized alongside it: it’s highly unlikely that those fats would make it to storage.

    Hi, I did the TWT in mid-February and felt great as it neared the end. In fact, I felt so good on it, I stayed on a modified version, eating very low carbs and sugar. I have lost 40 pounds! With the holidays, following the rules is becoming a bit more of a challenge, so I’m going to go back on a strict TWT starting tomorrow. Here’s my question. I’ve read several conversations in this thread about whether yogurt is OK. I see you’ve said repeatedly that as long as it’s full-fat, it should be fine. However, here’s where I’m stuck: I picked up some Oikos low-fat Greek yogurt last week at the grocery store. It is NOT full-fat, but the label said only 6g of sugar and 6g of carbs — which is WAY lower than any other yogurts I’ve seen. When I compared the label from this one to ones that are full-fat (and unflavored), their sugar/carb counts were double, triple and sometimes quadruple. So my question is, is this Oikos OK to eat? I get the one without fruit/flavors; those tend to be around 19g.

    Then we have what can best be described as the insane, unrealistic expectations people have about weight loss that exist primarily as a result of being lied to by the weight loss industry for the purpose of getting you to buy a bunch of useless crap.
    Once you’ve started losing weight, throw out or give away every piece of clothing that doesn’t fit, and fill your closet with dresses that show off your favorite body part. The idea of having to buy a whole new wardrobe if you gain the weight back will serve as a strong incentive to stay fit.

The confusion is that all tree nuts but cashews are OK during the TWT, and I had previously directed people that “all tree nuts are OK.” Don’t worry about having eaten a little cashews; it’s fine. But best to stay away from them from now on.
    1) I have eggs for breakfast (omelette, scrambled, fried) but find that I get discomfort in my stomach after eating and can often feel a bit ill until much later in the day. I have read to avoid drinking around meal times, but found this to have no effect. Is this something that is normal for some people, or should I expect it go away?
