Today is my last day on the two week test and I have done very carefully, I mostly cooked my own food, made sure to drink a lot of water, but since yesterday morning I’m feeling sick in the mornings, I can’t think of cheese and I feel like throwing up. Also, I couldn’t run yesterday because I was very dizzy. I’m not sure if it is lack of sodium. I’ve been putting salt on my food, eating every 3 hours making sure to be full, although I kinda lost appetite and sometimes I have to force myself to eat. Anyone else had that? I had the normal – I believe – dizziness first two days, but after 13 days I wouldn’t expect that.

I also drink a Sea Buckthorn juice every morning called Sibu Omega 7 Pure. It has 0 sugar and 3 carbs. Is that okay? I HAVE to use liquid stevia with it though to make it drinkable. I’ve seen some sites state that stevia is not permitted on Maffetone, but I don’t think I saw that here anywhere. I specifically use SweetLeaf brand stevia, both liquid and powder because I find it has no fillers. I use liquid stevia in my iced green tea and salad dressings too. Other supplements include d3, B complex and vitamin C. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thank-you for your reply. I am keen to continue with the MAF Method. I have now finished the two week test (which I extend to 3 weeks) and have now moved from a no carb diet to a low carb diet. No pasta,cereals or rice. Have re-introduced small quantities of potatoes and approx. 1-2 slices of low carb bread per week. Running has definitely improved since my last post My question is am I still training my body to burn fat or is this reintroduction of a small quantity of carbs (probably less than a quarter of what I ate prior to the MAF method) defeating the aim of burning fat? Any advice?

    The app has suffered a few setbacks.
    Just coming to the end of the TWT. The diet side of things has been general great, not missed eating carbs or sugar at all, only felt a little empty once or twice. Did expect it to be a lot harder, especially reading other peoples experiences. I would be quite happy to keep all carbs and sugar out of my diet, but not sure if that is a good idea.

In fact, they are so similar that the body reacts to them as it would to sugar: by raising insulin levels in anticipation of sugar. As long as it is mainly the provenance of the liver to maintain blood sugar levels instead of them being held up by sugars and starches from the diet (which the Two-Week Test easily accomplishes, you basically have to be in constant gluconeogenesis, which essentially means to be in a moderately ketogenic state.
