It depends on the vegetables. While total carbs do matter in terms of ketosis, the glycemic index of said carbs is what really has an impact on insulin (therefore reducing ketosis).     Knowledge truly is powerful, and understanding why we may be gaining weight gives us the tools to reverse those numbers on the scale. We know that too many calories cause weight gain. However, sometimes it is the type of foods that we are eating that can sabotage our best intentions. We metabolize different kinds of foods differently. For example, calories we consume from sugar will certainly affect us much differently than calories from healthy protein.
    All vinegar is fine. Partly, this is because you’ll be ingesting it in quantities that matter.

    Quinoa is allowed. So are peas. Carrots are allowed because of the non-soluble fiber that comes along with the carbs (which is extracted to make the juice).
    Adopting a new eating style that promotes weight loss must include lowering your total calorie intake. But decreasing calories need not mean giving up taste, satisfaction or even ease of meal preparation.

    The reason we suggest 14 days is because it is usually sufficient time for most people’s bodies to reboot correctly and begin burning fats. It’s not a magic number, just enough to work for 95% of people. So it’s certainly a safer bet to go longer (even past 14 days if you need to), but there’s no harm in stopping before, particularly if you’ve already seen some benefits. Just keep in mind healthy eating during your social engagements and try to make the right call.

  15. Vegetables: Unlimited low-glycemic vegetables (see list) and Detox Broth (recipe here) – Yay for not having to count calories! I loved having unlimited access to veggies. Sure you get sick of salad, but you can have all the roasted, steamed, grilled, and raw veggies that you want! I liked this flexibility a lot. It was also interesting to see what was considered low-glycemic and what wasn’t. Carrots, sweet potatoes, and corn were all off the list, but you could eat all the peppers and tomatoes you wanted.
