I also went for a long run today and naively included some hill work which left me totally wasted afterwards and feeling very glycogen deficient. It took half a day to get back to normal.     One more note on added sugars: Whether you call it agave, cane juice, maple syrup, brown rice syrup, fruit juice concentrate, date sugar or any of the 61 names for added sugar, they all spell trouble for your health and your waistline.

  6. Yes. Usually the negative effects are due to environmental stressors acting on the body during a transitional period (such as the TWT) where the body is vulnerable.
    Adopting a new eating style that promotes weight loss must include lowering your total calorie intake. But decreasing calories need not mean giving up taste, satisfaction or even ease of meal preparation.
