  1. Good for You! Losing weight for most women is really hard! When I was pregnant, 6 times, I was usually able to do really well at controlling my weight. I often craved vegetables, fruit, brown rice and oatmeal, so it was pretty easy. But during my nursing years, I would gain 20 pounds a year! La Leche League did a study on nursing moms who gained weight, and found it was due to not enough protein. Ah that was my problem. I have never been much of an egg or meat eater. I did well on the Game On diet, which has 3oz of protein, and lots of veggies three times a day, with limited grains, starchy veggies and fruits. The protein seems to be my key; eggs for breakfast, Greek yogurt or peanut butter on celery for lunch and chicken, fish, or lean beef with lots of salad greens and tomatoes for dinner, with snacks of plain nuts. I have been off the nutritious rails now for 18 months and started last week to rein myself in. I am already feeling better and craving less. Thanks for your inspiration and ideas to keep me going.

    I completed my TWT test and I could ascertain its positive effects on my body. I lost about 3Kg, feel great and very light when I do my MAF runs, but most of all I changed my diet to avoid carbs, starch and sugar. You mention, in one of your earlier responses, that the TWT is not a diet and should be done for 2 weeks only. In an attempt to understand how to re-introduce a wider spectrum of ingredients without losing the feeling, I stumbled on the keto lifestyle. As far as I can understand right not, it advocates the 70/20/10 ratio, which seems reasonable upon the light of reintroducing — and capping — the daily carbs intake. Would you suggest roughly following a ketogenic lifestyle could be a good follow-up to the TWT?

If, after 1 or 2 meals, the symptoms (or shadows of them) don’t already show, you can be reasonably sure that food agrees with you. During this period you should otherwise be eating like in the TWT. However, as long as the food that you introduced actually agrees with you, it shouldn’t confound your results should you keep eating it when you try a new food.
