Weight loss generally occurs when you burn more calories than you consume. On average (again, on average), a person needs to burn 3,500 calories more than he or she consumes to lose 1 lb (450 g). To lose 20 pounds (9 kg) in two weeks, you will need to lose a little under 1.5 lbs (675 g) every day. That means burning a little over 5,000 calories more than you consume each day. Yep, a very, very tall order.

It’s common in the community to go without salt or spices, but equally common to use them. Although the central premise of the diet is to cut out plants and their derivatives, coffee remains widely beloved. Even coconut oil, most controversially, has stayed in some carnivores’ diets. I used salt and spices, and drank coffee and tea, but stayed away from plant oils.

Sorry forgot to add to mention in previous reply that you mentioned that my body was not burning fat well. Does that imply my body will improve in its ability to burn fat as I continue to follow the method?

Slow metabolism Also, if it adds any information, the first 10 days were extremely tough with very intense cravings for sugar, then the 11th, I just woke up and they were gone. I almost went off the plan several times because the cravings were so bad they were actually painful. Terrible withdrawals from sugar- and I’m not a big sugar/carb eater to start with. But now, it’s very easy to stay on the plan.
Today is the last day of my TWT. I’ve lost only 5 Lbs, though weight was not my ultimate goal here so that’s fine. I do have more energy and no ups and downs during the day.

In principle, yes. On august 31st, I made a comment to “George” about what an acceptable kind of yoghurt is, and isn’t (so that you can compare them with your choice). I have read most of the comments, and have read the explanations for possible weight gain. Could there be any other reason why I am gaining weight?
