The tiredness does go away. You’re getting it because your body doesn’t have enough of its favorite fuel: sugar. Once your metabolism adapts to burning more fats, it’ll go away. What I recommend in terms of exercise is that you go for walks or easy hikes at a low intensity. That will help your body transition more quickly.

Yes, it’s fine, considering that we can overdo any food. Fats have more calories per grams than carbs or protein, but they are very effective in stopping the body from being hungry. So, if you eat too many fat calories, you’ll still gain weight. But by eating fats, your body will regulate its appetite much more effectively, essentially regulating your body mass at a lower fat content (which also typically means a lower weight).

Strategies for Success As mentioned, cardio should be done on all the low carb days, preferably before meal one. If this doesn’t jibe with your schedule, just get it done when you can. The next best time would be after your weight-training workout, but before you have your post workout meal. I suggested 30 minutes, but if you’re on the softer side you may want to bump this up to 45 to 60 minutes a day. I didn’t prescribe cardio on the carb load days, but for those with more fat to lose, adding some cardio on these days wouldn’t be a bad idea. Remember, this is a two-week timeline and we’re trying to make the most progress possible in the small window that we have.
