Most people don’t like to “just eat less”, i.e. being hungry forever. That’s dieting for masochists. Sooner or later a normal person will give up and eat, hence the prevalence of “yo-yo dieting”. You can eat a wide variety of low-glycemic carbohydrates that have relatively little impact on your blood sugar (in modest proportions) in order to fuel yourself in a way that allows for high-intensity bouts of activity when necessary.
