June 10, 2015 at 1:51 pm Netherlands NL Formats available: Username When I went on a low starch, no fruit, no sugar, no processed food Candida diet (which cleared ALL my chronic years worth of symptoms within only one week!) I had to rely on the following for my calories -> artichoke hearts in olive, coconut oil, coconut milk, avocados, olives and almonds. It was essentially a low starch diet. Once I completed the diet I later added in sundried tomatoes in olive oil every 2-3 days (but they are much higher in sugar than the other foods) and some other veg like pumpkin and squashes (which I wasn’t allowed to start with). At the time I wasn’t vegan and ate a couple of eggs a day. I want to go back to his low starch diet now as I felt fantastic on it, but now as a vegan and also doing much more exercise I’ll have to add more fat and protein from avocados, nuts and coconut collaborative natural yoghurt instead of the eggs. Sun Warrior protein powder also has 0g of sugar per scope (4g carbs) and so I will add this in, perhaps with diluted coconut milk…

That answer is incredibly helpful. I went out to run yesterday and the day before. I’ve been running using the MAF heartrate for a month, but day before yesterday I just could not keep the heartrate down and had to walk much, much more than usual. No big deal. I figured it was still a good workout. Then yesterday, I really felt lousy and woozy on my run. Today I took a rest day. I’m curious what will go on tomorrow. This is quite the learning experience.

Authors jason hall says: I started this today, and man was this afternoon hard. I wanted to eat rice cakes or crackers so badly, and all the candy corn (potty training my son!) was calling my name. Did you think the shake in the morning was too sweet? I bought the protein powder you bought, and I think it is way too sweet. I didn’t think it would have sweeteners in it, so I didn’t check the label before ordering it, and now I am wishing I had. The powder combined with the fruit was just way too sweet. I felt like that was counter intuitive since you aren’t supposed to eat anything sweet, even carrots, but the shake in the morning is sweet!
