Hi I started the test a few days ago and have experienced headaches as well. For me they are in the front of the head/sinus area. Also its been hard to wake up in the mornings, but once I get going am fine. Been drinking plenty of water and think the headaches are just from going no wheat/sugar. Today (day 4) seemed a little better. I may be too eager, but I have not seen any movement on the scale…NONE. That said, I do not feel bloated at times like before. Going to stick with this and be patient.

Don’t take off the 10 BPM (unless you really want to). Just know that any reductions in speed are due to a lack of carbs, not a loss of fitness. So, for those of you having trouble losing weight: use nuts sparingly. When in a situation where nuts are an absolute must, know that the most harmless ones carb-wise are macadamia nuts (usually around 5% carbs), or Brazil nuts (4%).

If your not doing the TWT is Quinoa ok to have? I did the TWT about a month ago and the results were so positive, I decided to stay on the program. My father is diabetic and I’m pre-diabetic and been diagnosed as insulin resistant, so this program is a huge help to me. (Plus, I have a horrible sweet tooth!) Not only do I feel better overall, but in the month I’ve been following the program, I’m down about 12 pounds. I have another 10 to lose, and I’m so grateful for this program, because it’s helping me do it while eating healthy.

The two most important things you can train for a race are (1) knowledge of your race pace, and (2) knowledge of the race duration. As long as your body understands those two things, you will be prepared, regardless of how well you do your training. This is why Phil used to train great triathletes such as Mark Allen at a near-exclusive MAF pace. As long as their bodies were comfortable with those two things, they would perform at top level.
