I want to retain some strength training twice a week. This is a 20 minute workout with kettlebell in the morning but will most likely take me above MAF. I will be running in the evenings of those 2 days below MAF hr. Is this acceptable and will it have any impact?
Sorry about the comment about legumes. They are not allowed, due to their higher starch content. Neither is cottage cheese. It, like yoghurt, are made from milk without cream, which means that they have comparatively a much higher sugar (lactose) content than sour cream, heavy cream, or cheeses such as blue cheese, parmigiano reggiano and brie/camembert or other creamy cheeses.

When you do the math, consuming fewer calories is far more effective than trying to shed weight through exercise. You can burn hundreds of calories with a 30-minute intense workout, but as an asthmatic, that exercise can make a sustained 30 minutes of exercise hard, and one bowl of cereal can put those calories right back on again. If you want to lose weight, food needs to be your first focus.

That being said, if you eat 20 oranges in one day, that's 1200 calories approximately, and you're not going to be losing much. If you exercise too much, you risk making your muscles and your body fatigued. If you drink your weight in water, you will flush out beneficial components, as well as bad ones. Not to mention that your subconscious will lose interest in such a strict and monotonous routine. Try a more varied routine that includes healthy food choices.

Correct on all counts. We’ll sometimes lump acceptable foods in with the unacceptable ones to make it easier on everyone. It’s very difficult to field everyone’s food choices as we need to cut within food categories with a very fine blade to separate all acceptable from all unacceptable foods.

Suggested snacks in the book include celery with cream cheese but the cream cheese sounds like a non-starter in the comment section. As well, the book suggests ricotta cheese is ok – no mention in the comment section about ricotta.
