75 E. Santa Clara St., Floor 6 Good for You! Losing weight for most women is really hard! When I was pregnant, 6 times, I was usually able to do really well at controlling my weight. I often craved vegetables, fruit, brown rice and oatmeal, so it was pretty easy. But during my nursing years, I would gain 20 pounds a year! La Leche League did a study on nursing moms who gained weight, and found it was due to not enough protein. Ah that was my problem. I have never been much of an egg or meat eater. I did well on the Game On diet, which has 3oz of protein, and lots of veggies three times a day, with limited grains, starchy veggies and fruits. The protein seems to be my key; eggs for breakfast, Greek yogurt or peanut butter on celery for lunch and chicken, fish, or lean beef with lots of salad greens and tomatoes for dinner, with snacks of plain nuts. I have been off the nutritious rails now for 18 months and started last week to rein myself in. I am already feeling better and craving less. Thanks for your inspiration and ideas to keep me going.

October 26, 2015 at 2:47 am Any thoughts Re: making this work as a vegetarian? I eat cheese, I eat dairy (so not vegan; I do not consume meat, chicken, fish. I do not eat eggs. Many store-bought meat substitutes are highly processed, and stuff that I would normally consume, or depending on how you view seitan, made with vital wheat gluten (which I assume would be a no-no here). Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!
