Not what I thought...at 65 and cooking for 45 years, I didn't find this book especially eye opening as a weight loss/healthy eating book. Smaller portions and whole foods is nothing new. Meh. A word on race nutrition: if you train your body exclusively with fats (while training every week or so with carbs so you don’t forget how to digest or use them), and you supplement with carbs during a race (but not before), your performance will be that much better: instead of using carbs to “stave off” exhaustion, you’ll be using them to top off the tank.
