What I would do is walk during the Two-Week Test, and include as many stress-reducing activities as possible. Also, are sun dried tomatoes or roasted red peppers okay or too concentrated? Also, is coconut cream okay for curries or to water down and use as milk?

More Information I have a question about training with the 180 formula. I completed the TWT and am starting 3 months of training at below MAF. I want to retain some strength training twice a week. This is a 20 minute workout with kettlebell in the morning but will most likely take me above MAF. I will be running in the evenings of those 2 days below MAF hr. Is this acceptable and will it have any impact?
At my clinic in Toronto, I’ve helped countless patients lose weight with this technique. Generally, yes. But you don’t have to try something for a full week. After the Two-Week Test (TWT), your body will be hypersensitive to foods that don’t agree with you: in fact, the symptoms will show up when you’ve eaten 1/10th or 1/20th of the amount necessary to create adverse help effects. If, after 1 or 2 meals, the symptoms (or shadows of them) don’t already show, you can be reasonably sure that food agrees with you. During this period you should otherwise be eating like in the TWT. However, as long as the food that you introduced actually agrees with you, it shouldn’t confound your results should you keep eating it when you try a new food.

The scale is not necessarily your friend. You may want to lose fat – but the scale measures muscles, bone and internal organs as well. Gaining muscle is a good thing. Thus weight or BMI are imperfect ways to measure your progress. This is especially true if you’re just coming off a long period of semi-starvation (calorie counting), as your body may want to restore lost muscles etc. Starting weight training and gaining muscle can also hide your fat loss.

Get several hours of moderate to vigorous exercise each day. The best way to burn calories is through exercise. If your body is already familiar with moderate physical activity, you might be able to take things up a notch by alternating moderate and vigorous activity throughout your day. On the other hand, if you are unaccustomed to much physical activity, you should only stick to moderate exercise. Either way, make sure to take plenty of breaks and to re-hydrate yourself with plenty of water consistently.

Don’t be afraid of eating fat, as trying to do both low-carb AND low-fat at the same time is a recipe for failure. It will make you feel miserable and abandon the plan.
