While the sugar stores in muscles will never be the same as if you’re eating a higher-carb diet, there will still be enough to power the body through a generous amount of anaerobic work. The issue with the two-week test is that since the body is not fat adapted, it relies on much of its energy from carbohydrates, all of which it has to get from the diet. In that situation, if you eliminate carbs from the diet, you won’t be in a position to do carb-based activities until you become fat-adapted.
