I’m guessing this is meat that you purchased that are already pre-smoked because there is no guarantee that there isn’t sugar added. However, is smoking meat at home where you can assure that no sugar added allowed? I usually just season the meat with seasoned salt (will have to see if it contains sugar) and use wood chips to smoke the meat. It comes out really flavorful and would hate to have to give up this method of cooking my meat.
