I never used the word “diet” in front of my kids, I never said “I can’t eat that,” and I made a point to not make a big deal out of it. I don’t want my kids to think of me as a dieter. I just want to be a healthy well-balanced mom who models that for her kids. There were only probably 3 times in the whole 14 days they asked why I was eating this or not eating that and I simple said that it was what sounded good to me. I made no labels of “healthy” either. When they asked if I wanted a bite of something I would just say, “no thanks,” and we’d move on. It really wasn’t a big deal because I didn’t make it a big deal.
